Camping & Hiking in Wharton State Forest:

Camping:

 

You must be 18 or over to obtain permit

No alcoholic beverages permitted

No pets permitted

Wharton State Forest provides camping areas for all camping enthusiasts. Facilities include trailer sites, tent sites, and  cabins at Atsion and wilderness sites with access only by hiking, canoeing or by horseback.

Hiking:

 Hiking trails are available in Wharton State Forest. The most well known is the Batona Trail. For information about the Batona Trail and other related information, you may link to:

Canoeing:

Several Rivers run through Wharton State Forest. Canoeing is a popular activity. Several canoe rental companies are in the area.
