The Batsto Village Visitors Center is the large
building adjacent to the parking area. The Visitors Center is the
starting point for visiting Batsto Village. It is here that you can pick
up a brochure about the site, purchase tickets for a Mansion
tour, and
find out what special events are happening within the Village. The
Visitor Center is open from 9:00am to 4:00pm daily.
The Museum Shop is
in the Visitors Center. Here visitors may purchase gifts, items made at
Batsto, and a variety of books relating to history and the Pinelands.
The Museum, also in the
Visitors Center, is a mini-history of Batsto. In addition, the Mansion
staff displays exhibits, which change regularly, depicting different
aspects of the area.
Camping information and registrations for Wharton
State Forest campsites are purchased in the Visitors Center. It is here
that maps and information about campgrounds within Wharton State Forest
are available..
The Administration Offices of Wharton State
Forest are located at the Visitors Center. They are responsible for
Batsto Village and the entire State Forest.
The Joseph Truncer Memorial Library and archives
are also located in the Visitors Center. These facilities are available
by appointment to researchers.
Public Restrooms are also available in the
Visitors Center.
